A magnificent specimen of sparkling gem rhodochrosite crystals from the famous Santa Eulalia District, Chihuahua, Mexico. It is from Main Silicate orebody, 10th Level, Potosi mine, West Camp. It comes from the collection of W.D. Panczner collection – no label. It displays transparent, clear and gem rhodochrosite crystals. They have marvelous cherry-red color. The crystals are with a good scalenohedral shape. The faces have a strong sparkling luster. The quality is excellent - marvelous color and clarity so the crystals just glow. The deposit has produced these treasures long time ago and pieces like this have always been scarce. Santa Eulalia is one of the prime rhodochrosite localities in the world, rivaling NChwaning Mines and Sweet Home Mine. For references see the 2018 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 49, # 1. In excellent condition – some outside edge contacts. On acrylic base.
Stunning!
