A stunning top-quality vesuvianite specimen from the renowned Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The perfectly flat terminated prismatic crystals are transparent and gem. They display a breathtaking purple color to some rich raspberry gradient. The luster is very strong and the crystals are glassy. This is the most intense color which the mine produced. Atop are seen small cream garnet var. grossular crystals which is an unique combination. They are fluorescent in a rich pink. It shows beautifully from all sides. The dazzling color makes it an absolute marvel to behold. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
