An amazing skeletal galena specimen from this closed mine - 9th Septemvri mine, Madan ore field, Bulgaria – the only one that makes these structures. The skeletal structure is caused by very fast growth of the mineral where the crystal faces do not have the time to be completed because the edges grow faster than the center. It displays very attractive stepped growth, forming gorgeous terraced structures on all faces. The galena cubes are matt lustrous, well formed and they have a sharp geometry. On the galena are seen gorgeous yellow chalcopyrite incrustations proving the natural origin of the skeletal structures. Black sphalerite forms the base with minor quartz. In very good condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.
