A striking raspberry-red, gem spinel crystal from Mogok Township, Myanmar (Burma). It displays a sharp octahedral crystal of 1.5 carats. The quality is amazing – it is transparent and gem with a gorgeous and rich color, like a fiery brilliance that seems to glow from within. The exceptional transparency allows its saturated color to radiate, while the internal reflections create a sense of depth and character. The faces are strongly lustrous. A complete all over floater, like from a textbook. For references see the 2022 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 53, # 1. In excellent condition – some natural imperfections. On acrylic base.
Magnificent!
