A superb specimen of skeletal galena, chalcopyrite, quartz, sphalerite and pyrite from 9th Septemvri mine, Madan ore field, Bulgaria. Very attractive and geometrical arrangement of stacked and aligned galena crystals overgrowing each other. Excellent parallel growth of cubes and elongated tetragonal prisms on different axes. They grow one atop other forming amazing terraced structures. The faces are matt lustrous. The galena cubes are with parallel truncated corners. An attractive decoration is yellow chalcopyrite crystal at the core of the galena. Sharp, chunky and transparant quartz crystals form the base. Black sphalerite and pyrite crystals are seen too. It displays beautifully all over 360 degree. In very good condition – some small nicks and contacts.
Overwhelming!
