Very uncommon type of vesuvianite from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The crystal is opaque, almost colorless with a light green hue. The quality is excellent – the crystal has glassy lustrous faces which strongly reflect the light giving superb sparkling appearance. It is razor sharp with perfect prismatic habit. Overall a choice vesuvianite from this great now closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – back side contact. On acrylic base.
Cool rarity!
