A magnificent crystal of gem grossular garnet var. tsavorite from the famous Merelani Hills, Tanzania. Tsavorite is a very rare, green, chromium or vanadium variety of grossular. It is 4.75 carats, very vitreous, clear, transparent and gem with a strong luster.  It has a green color and sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystal habit. Some graphite inclusions are seen too. It is complete all over floater. In excellent condition – some micro nicks. With acrylic base – not glued.
