Pleasing and rare garnet var. grossular crystals with green phantoms from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystals to 1mm are gem with rich green cores which are result of chromium and surrounded by transparent colorless areas. The crystals have a sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible contrast. Apple-green diopside crystals grow on the base. The green cored garnets are among the most unusual and rare Jeffrey mine garnets. This was mined long time ago - the mine is closed now. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In good condition – some contacts. On acrylic base.

Cool phantom garnets!
