A fabulous specimen of gemmy dioptase crystals from Pimbi hill, Mindouli, Republic of Congo - Brazzaville. This specimen was mined more that 30 years ago by a geologist and stored. The crystals are strongly lustrous that catches and reflects light beautifully. They have a gorgeous and rich emerald-green color. The very sharp, perfectly terminated crystals display prismatic and rhombohedral faces, characteristic of dioptase's trigonal crystal system. The quality is superb - the crystals are gemmy with marvelous neon-green nuances. Much better in person (especially the color). In very good condition – some outside edge contacts. On acrylic base.
A masterpiece of nature – simply exquisite!
