A splendid and very rare combo specimen of gem pink grossular garnets crystals associated with wollastonite from the legendary Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystals are transparent and gem to opaque at the base. They have a strong luster and tender pink color. They have a rhombic dodecahedral crystal habit. The wollastonite forms an eye-catching, fluffy plume of silky, white fibers at the top, resembling a natural crest. This feature adds an unusual and dynamic visual element to the specimen, creating a unique interplay between textures—smooth crystalline garnets and the delicate, fibrous wollastonite. This piece originates from a single pocket discovered decades ago and such combinations are difficult to find. It displays beautifully on both sides. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
This specimen is both aesthetic and rare, making it a captivating addition to any fine mineral collection!
