A superb specimen of lazulite with siderite and quartz from the famous phosphate deposits of Yukon. Lazulite is a rare magnesium aluminum phosphate and some of the finest come from this locality. The lazulite crystals are sharp, highly glassy lustrous, very well formed, monoclinic, deep indigo blue color up to 7mm big. The crystals have gemmy areas with marvelous royal blue nuances. Yellow-brown siderite crystals cover the base and underline nicely the lazulite. Some small colorless quartz crystals are seen too. For references see the 1992 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 23, # 4. In excellent condition – some small contacts.
Fine lazulite!
