A unique specimen of twinned and faden K feldspar var. adularia from the famous Cavradi gorge, Switzerland. Cavradi pieces are classic and highly treasured. Faden is the German word for string, where the crystals grow in a string, creating a distinctive growth line through the specimen. Here the main crystals are very flat forming a plate with sharp terminations all over and clear faden line in the center. Above grow a second generation of twinned crystals. Adularia is with a high luster, transparent, glassy and colorless. Some partial coating of green chlorite is visible on the sides. Elegant and well shaped all over 360 degree. Some leaps. On acrylic base.
Exceptional!
