A beautiful specimen of lazulite crystal decorating colorless quartz from Rapid Creek - the famous phosphate deposits of Yukon, Canada. Lazulite is a rare magnesium aluminum phosphate and some of the finest come from this locality. The lazulite crystal is sharp, highly lustrous, very well formed, monoclinic, deep indigo blue color measuring 10mm. It is very well isolated. Transparent and clear quartz crystals form the base. The contrast is strong. For references see the 1992 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 23, # 4. In excellent condition.
Sumptuous lazulite!
