A superb specimen of rare pink-cream colored grossular garnet crystals to 4mm, beautifully growing over diopside needles from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The garnet crystals are very glassy, transparent, gem quality with a superb luster and marvelous pink-cream color. They have a sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystal habit. The color is very tender and combined with the excellent gemminess make it a remarkable specimen from this closed mine. The small spiky diopside needles are colorless with a green hue. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition - some small contacts.
Mesmerizing!
