Stunning and very rare shigaite crystal decorating sparkling rhodochrosite from this famous locality - NChwaning I Mine, South Africa. Shigaite is a very rare aluminum manganese sulfate and the finest specimens for the species come from this locality. It displays strongly sparkling fresh rhodochrosite crystals with a vivid pink color. Above grows one 7mm shigaite crystal. It forms an excellent focal point. It is tabular and hexagonal rosette with a rich honey-red color. It is strongly light reflective and shiny. For references see the 2017 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 48, # 1. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
