A killer crystal of manganoan vesuvianite decorated with minor garnet var. grossular crystals from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The vesuvianite crystal is gemmy with a rich and saturated purple color to amazing purple-fuchsia caps. The luster is strong and the crystal is glassy. It is sharp and doubly terminated. Very small cream colored, gem garnet var. grossular crystals grow above, which is one unique combination. It displays all over 360 degree. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Stunning!
