A mesmerizing specimen of rhodochrosite from the famous locality of Mont Saint-Hilaire, Canada. It displays sharp rhombohedral rhodochrosite crystals with a pleasing salmon-pink color. They show medium luster and some translucence. Black aegirine needles grow over white albite rosettes. The contrast is strong. For references see the 1990 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 21, # 4. In very good condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Exceptional rhodochrosite from Mont Saint-Hilaire!
