An outstanding specimen of the famous iridescent "rainbow" garnet var. andradite from Kohse mine, Tenkawa village, Japan. The crystals to 10mm have a pleasing tobacco color with a razor-sharp rhombic dodecahedral habit and a strong luster. They are translucent with a cool enlightenment at the rims. They have a gorgeous natural iridescent coating. The locality is strictly prohibited for collecting so the specimens are rare. In very good condition - some outside edge contacts. On acrylic base.
Top iridescent andradite!
