An excellent specimen of lustrous garnet var. andradite var. melanite crystals from Arrondissement Diakon, Kayes Region, Mali. The melanite crystals to 21 mm are very well shaped. They are black with a sharp rhombic dodecahedral habit and a strong luster. They have pretty beveled edges. The main crystal forms an excellent focal point. In good condition – some small nicks.
