A splendid specimen of garnet var. grossular var. chromian from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystals are gem to 1mm. They have a deep and saturated grass-green color due to chromium. The garnets are with a sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible color. Apple-green diopside covers the base. Some lustrous diopside needle crystals are seen too. A pleasing piece from this closed mine. It shows all over 360 degree. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.

Cool gem-green garnets!
