A killer specimen of rare pink colored grossular garnet crystals to 3mm, beautifully growing over diopside needles from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The garnet crystals are very glassy, transparent, gem quality with a superb luster and marvelous pink color to some cream ones. They have a sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystal habit. The color is very tender and combined with the excellent gemminess make it a remarkable specimen from this closed mine. The small spiky diopside needles are colorless with a green hue. It displays aesthetically from many sides. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition - some contacts. On acrylic base.
Astonishing!
