Beautiful and uncommon two generations Calcite epimorph specimen from Krushev dol mine, Madan ore field, Bulgaria. It displays first generation of Calcite crystals growing in a cluster. The main one has hollow center due to epimorph after Calcite. Epimorph is a type of pseudomorph where a mineral replaces another mineral and the original mineral dissolves, leaving a hollow cast surrounded by the new mineral. The color is white-cream. Above grow second generation of colorless rhombohedral Calcite crystals. They are strongly lustrous and light reflective. One of them forms very neat mushroom like structure. Flat and mirror lustrous Galena plates are seen at the back side. The specimen is complete all over with very small contact area. In excellent condition – some small contacts.
Exquisite!
