Knappenwand is a world famous mineral locality for fine Epidote-Byssolite and this is an elegant specimen. It displays very delicate clusters of fibrous hair like Byssolite needles impaled on Epidote crystals. The Byssolite has green color and it is very sparkling. The Epidotes grow in a curved cluster and they have rich olive-green color. They are lustrous and strongly light reflective with pleasing translucence. For references The Mineralogical Record, vol. 17, pp 167-181. In superb condition. On acrylic base.

Knappenwand specimens are not common, always highly prized and this is an exquisite piece!
