Very attractive and uncommon Calcite specimen from Krushev dol mine, Madan ore field, Bulgaria. It displays flames like Calcite crystals growing in a cluster. Many crystals have hollow centers due to epimorph probably after Calcite. Epimorph is a type of pseudomorph where a mineral replaces another mineral and the original mineral dissolves, leaving a hollow cast surrounded by the new mineral. The color is white. Above grow second generation of small Calcite crystals. Some minor Quartz is seen at the base. Displays from all sides. In good condition – some flames are not complete.

Beautiful!
