Gorgeous specimen of pink colored Grossular Garnets to 6mm attractively set on green Diopsides. Grossular crystals are transparent, gem quality with a superb luster and pleasant, rich color. They are glassy clear. Perfect rhombohedral crystal habit with rhomboid shape faces - classic for this locality. The base is completely upholstered by small, green, sparkling and gem Diopsides with flat tips. The pink Grossulars contrast nicely on the green background. Extremely rare pink Garnets from this great inactive mine. For references see the issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In superb condition – outside edges contacts. On acrylic base.
Magnificent pink “diamonds” that enchant!
