A fascinating specimen of rare garnet var. grossular with grass-green phantom from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystal of 7mm is gem with green core which is result of chromium and surrounded by transparent lighter green areas. The crystal has a rhombic dodecahedral sharp crystallization, good luster and irresistible contrast. Small apple-green diopside crystals are seen at the base. The green cored garnets are among the most unusual and rare Jeffrey mine garnets. It displays attractively all over 360 degree. This was mined long time ago - the mine is closed now.
