A marvelous specimen of garnet var. grossular var. chromian with micro black chromite inclusions from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystals are gemmy. They have a rich grass-green color due to chromium. The garnets are with sharp crystallization, good luster and irresistible color. Some minor inclusions of black chromite are seen inside. Apple-green diopside crystals are seen too. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Some contacts. On acrylic base.
Cool green garnets!
