A fine crystal of gem garnet var. andradite from Mine Lac dAmiante, Quebec, Canada. It displays a single 9mm andradite sitting on a matrix, which is much rarer. It is complete, well terminated with a glassy luster. The crystal is transparent and gem. The color is a pleasing mint-green. Small olive green crystals of probably vesuvianite are seen too. These garnets have been found in small number and always have been rare. In very good condition – small back side contact. On acrylic base.
Gorgeous andradite from this closed mine!
