A beautiful specimen of lustrous garnet var. andradite var. melanite crystals sitting on a pargasite crystals matrix from Arrondissement Diakon, Kayes Region, Mali. The melanite crystals to 20 mm are very well shaped and isolated. They are black with a sharp rhombic dodecahedral habit and a strong luster. They have pretty beveled edges. They form an excellent focal point at the top. Green pargasite crystals form the base. Pargasite is a rare complex silicate species of the Amphibole Group. It displays aesthetically all over 360 degree. In very good condition – some small contacts and nicks. On acrylic base.
Superb!
