A striking thumbnail specimen of manganoan vesuvianite crystals from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The vesuvianite crystals are gem with a purple color to rich and saturated fuchsia at the caps. The luster is strong and the crystals are glassy. Jeffrey mine produced some of the finest vesuvianite in the world and this is a choice piece. The mine is closed since a long time. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
Killer color!
