A superb specimen of gemmy, purple creedite crystals from the famous find in Santa Eulalia District, Chihuahua, Mexico. It comes from the collection of Achim Paul, Leipzig, Germany - no label. Purple creedite is much rarer. Creedite forms an attractive cluster of crystals to 20mm. They have a vivid purple color due to inclusions, to colorless areas. The faces have a strong glassy luster and sharp crystallization. Many crystals are doubly terminated. They are transparent and gemmy. It has a sculptural display all over 360 degree. For references see the 2018 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 49, # 1. In very good condition – some outside edge contacts and one partial crack. The base is reinforced. On acrylic base.
Astonishing!
