An outstanding specimen of iridescent arsenopyrite, quartz and muscovite from the famous Panasqueira mine, Portugal. It comes from the collection of Achim Paul, Leipzig, Germany - no label. It displays a sculptural combination of shiny arsenopyrite sitting at the top of transparent quartz crystals. The gorgeous iridescence of the lustrous arsenopyrite crystals forms excellent focal points. The arsenopyrite is with a sharp crystallization. It is strongly iridescent, when properly lighted, in rich electric magenta, purple, blue, green and yellow. The quartz crystals are razor sharp, well definite, water clear and glassy lustrous. They are sprinkled with small muscovite rosettes. For references see the 2014 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 45, # 1. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
Superb!
