A fine specimen of bi-color gemmy vesuvianite crystals from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. They have from a rich purple color to apple-green areas. The crystals are translucent to transparent and gem, with a strong glassy luster and are well shaped. Some are doubly terminated. The vesuvianite is very fresh and sparkling. It displays beautifully all over 360 degree. Jeffrey mine produced some of the finest vesuvianite pieces in the world and this is a choice representative. The mine is closed since a long time. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Superb!
