A colorful specimen of vesuvianite var. manganoan from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The vesuvianite crystals are gemmy with charming color variations from rich and saturated dark purple to apple-green caps. The colors are intense and the contrast is very strong. It is with an exemplary, glassy luster and very well crystallized - very fresh and sparkling. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Striking colors!
