A fascinating specimen of iridescent pyrite replacing the calcium carbonate from ammonite from Near Saratov City, Volga river basin, Russia. This is a Calovian Era fossil. It is very well shaped and complete all over with a perfect shape. It has very well-defined spiral striated growth lines. Pyrite is lustrous and sparkling with a good iridescence. In very good condition – some back side imperfections. On acrylic base.
