A striking thumbnail specimen of manganoan vesuvianite crystals from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The vesuvianite crystals are gem with a rich and saturated purple color to some fuchsia at the caps. The luster is strong and the crystals are glassy. This is among the most intense colors. Jeffrey mine produced some of the finest vesuvianite in the world and this is a choice piece. The mine is closed since a long time. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
Killer color!
