A killer specimen of vesuvianite crystals from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. They have from rich and saturated purple color to apple-green at the tips. The crystals are gemmy with a glassy luster and strong light reflection. The vesuvianite crystals are well shaped and sharp with point tips. Some are doubly terminated. The vesuvianite is very fresh and sparkling. It displays beautifully all over 360 degree. Jeffrey mine produced some of the finest vesuvianite pieces in the world and this is a superb representative. The mine is closed since a long time. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Overwhelming!
