A marvelous specimen of garnet var. grossular var. chromian with micro black chromite inclusions from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystals are gemmy. They have a rich grass-green color due to chromium. The garnets are with sharp crystallization, good luster and irresistible color. Some minor inclusions of black chromite are seen too. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition - some small side contacts. On acrylic base.
Cool green garnets!
