A mesmerizing specimen of gem vesuvianite crystals from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The perfect crystals to 12 mm have a rich apple-green color. The quality is superb – gem and glassy crystals with very lustrous faces which strongly reflect the light. That gives a sparkling appearance. The crystals are very well shaped and sharp with pointy tips. Tabular colorless diopside crystals are seen too. They are sharp, lustrous and transparent. Overall stunning green vesuvianite from this great now closed mine, which has produced the best vesuvianite in the world. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some small contacts.
Outstanding!
