A rare combo specimen of gem garnet var. grossular with minor green phantoms and prehnite from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystals are super gem and transparent. The crystals to 3mm have a rhombic dodecahedral sharp crystallization, glassy luster and are colorless. White prehnite rosettes with a pearly luster enrich the display. This was mined decades ago - the mine is closed now. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Some damages. On acrylic base.
Gorgeous!
