A marvelous specimen of rhodochrosite crystals from the famous NChwaning Mines, Kalahari manganese fields, South Africa. It displays translucent to transparent and gemmy crystals. They have a rich red color. The elongated crystals have parallel growth and pointy tips. The faces have a good luster. For references see the 2017 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 48, # 1. Some damages. On acrylic base.
Wonderful!
