An exceptional toenail specimen of extremely rare pink colored grossular garnet crystals to 9mm from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The garnets form a cluster of glassy, transparent, completely gem and water clear crystals. They have a superb luster and fascinating pink color. The garnets are with a perfect and razor sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystal habit. Very unusual tabular crystals of probably diopside crystals form a diadem above. They are well shaped, flat and cream colored. White wollastonite is seen too. The gorgeous garnet color combined with the amazing gemminess make it superb specimen from this closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition – some contacts at the outside edges and minor nicks. On acrylic base.
It is truly a chance to have such rare beauty!
