A mesmerizing specimen of gem vesuvianite crystals from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The perfect crystals to 18 mm have a rich apple-green color and purple cores. The dominant crystals give beautiful and distinctive display. The quality is superb – gem and glassy crystals with very lustrous faces which strongly reflect the light. That gives a sparkling appearance. The crystals are very well shaped and sharp with pointy tips. Tabular colorless diopside crystals are seen too. They are sharp, lustrous and transparent. It displays attractively from all sides. Overall stunning green vesuvianite from this great now closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some base part contacts. On acrylic base.
Outstanding!
