A nice stalactite of melanterite from a new small find in Krushev dol mine, Madan ore field, Bulgaria. Melanterite is a hydrated iron sulphate formed after the decomposition of pyrite or other sulphide due to the action of waters. It is sometimes found in mines as a post-mining formation. It displays green color and waxy luster. Complete all over. It must not be washed. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
Cool!
