A rare specimen carletonite crystal on matrix from this famous locality - Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. It comes from the collection of Houssa, Belgium. The carletonite is one of the very rare mineral species unique for the type locality Mont Saint-Hilaire. It occurs only there and none has been found for many years. Crystals are not often seen and most of the pieces are just cleavages. This piece shows one cubic crystal of 8mm with a good luster. The color varies from colorless at the rims to blue at the center. The white matrix gives a good contrast. For references see the 1990 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 21, # 4. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
