An aesthetic specimen of quartz var. smoky crystals sitting over white albite base from the famous Poudrette quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. The quartz has an intense smoky-black color and good luster. The crystals are sharp and the lower one is doubly terminated. Complete all over. For references see the 1990 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 21, # 4. In good condition – one small nick at the tip. On acrylic base.
