A striking specimen of vesuvianite var. manganoan from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The pointy terminated crystals are sharp and gemmy. They have an amazing purple color. Many are doubly terminated. The luster is strong and the crystals are glassy. It displays beautifully all over 360 degree. It is a complete floater. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In superb condition. On acrylic base.
Gorgeous!
