A marvelous sculptural specimen of gem tourmaline var. elbaite crystals from Malkhan pegmatite field, Transbaikalia, Russia. They have a raspberry color, strong luster and nice surface striations – glassy and gem crystals. The vertical crystal is well shaped, while the ends of the other one are contacts. One quartz crystal grows with them. For references see the 2019 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 50, # 3. In good condition – some contacts. On acrylic base.
Fascinating!
