A striking thumbnail specimen of manganoan vesuvianite crystals from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The vesuvianite crystals are gemmy with a rich and saturated dark purple color. The luster is strong and the crystals are glassy. This is the most intense color which the mine produced. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Killer color!
