A marvelous thumbnail vesuvianite crystal with raspberry caps from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The perfectly terminated crystal is gem. It has a color variation from apple-green to very saturated and rich raspberry-fuchsia caps. The color intensity varies depending the observation angle. The luster is very strong and the crystal is transparent and glassy. It is doubly terminated. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4.
